There are different types of fees associated with obtaining a visa. Please read carefully the instructions below, since more than one fee may apply per visa: (Basic Fee and/or Processing Fee and/or Handling Fee).

Please note that all payments should be made only in U.S. POSTAL MONEY ORDER, payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF BRAZIL.

Cash, personal or company checks, certified checks, bank or personal money orders, and credit card charges ARE NOT accepted.

Please bring one money order per visa application.

The visa fees listed bellow are cumulative and charged per each visa submission.

  *  American citizens must pay a non-refundable processing fee per visa in reciprocity for an identical fee charged to Brazilian citizens applying for a U.S. visa. The table below shows the different processing fees for American citizens only:

Please note that effective May 2nd, 2012, based on reciprocity, the processing fee for tourist (VITUR), business (VITEM II), student (VITEM IV), media correspondent (VITEM VI) and permanent (VIPER) visas for United States nationals will be US$ 160.00 and the processing fee for VITEM I, VITEM III, VITEM V and VITEM VII visas for United States nationals will be US$ 190.00.

PROCESSING FEE FOR BRITISH CITIZENS:

• British citizens must pay a non-refundable US$ 155.00 processing fee when the validity of their visas is over 180 days.

VISAS FOR CITIZENS OF OTHER COUNTRIES:

 HANDLING FEES:

Regardless of citizenship, if visa application is not submitted in person by the applicant or by firsrt degree relative (spouse, child, parents), an additional fee payment of US$20.00 per visa applies to visa submissions presented by a third party (friends, co-workers, visa/travel agencies, etc). This fee is also non-refundable.

 LAISSEZ-PASSER:

Citizens of Kosovo and Taiwan must have a Laissez-Passer to enter Brazil. The cost for the "laissez-passer" is US$80.00 plus any other applicable visa or handling fee.
